Horsford Heroes maintained their big lead at the top of the City of Norwich League with a maximum 14-0 home win against First Bus. Carol Aggas, Vic Webster & Chris Woodhouse won 20-4 while David Crosby’s triple won 15-6, Roger Frank’s triple won 15-5 & John Aggas won by 9-7. Thorpe Marriott have certainly not given up on catching the leaders, they pulled off a 14-0 away win at Costessey. Tony Turner’s triple won by 14-7 in their best result of the match. Windows are third after a 13-1 home win against Jarrolds. Andy Drummie, Paul Brock & Mark Tuttle led the way with a 20-7 win. Defending champions Horsford Gold are fourth but appear to be out of the title race as they are now 52 points adrift of the leaders. They won their local derby away to Horsford Blue by 10-4 with Barbara Ayers, Phil Cotton & Ray Ayres winning 20-7. Halvergate’s determination to retain the Bure League title, despite the new challenge of Bob Carter and Watton Expendables, was displayed in a clinical demolition of visitors Hevingham to their Upton venue. Jackie Smith, Sue Fox & Keith Cooke scored the evening’s biggest win of 23-3 as the visitors were put to the sword.
